Matcha is as versatile as espresso as an ingredient in a wide range of drinks, both hot and cold.
This matcha is perfect for culinary use. The quality is adapted for use in drinks such as Matcha latte, Matcha chocolate and Dirty Matcha (with espresso). Can also be used to make delicious ice cream, chocolate and smoothies. Adds a sweetly delicate Matcha taste - as well as a beautiful vibrant green color - to your delicacies.
Rich umami, packed with the amino acid L-theanine, antioxidants (catechins) and high caffeine content.
This is sugar-free and the drinks you make can be sweetened as desired.
Are you looking for a matcha you can drink neat (ceremonial matcha), you will find it here Premium Matcha
Why is matcha so good?
Matcha is a unique green tea that stands out in both production and nutritional content. The tea plants are grown in the shade to develop extra chlorophyll, before the leaves are harvested and ground into a fine powder. Unlike regular green tea, where the leaves are steeped in water, you drink the whole leaf in powdered form. This creates a concentrated drink with a full flavor, a natural sweetness and a balanced bitterness with umami.
Natural benefits of matcha
- High caffeine content – about 60 mg per cup (for comparison, coffee has around 80 mg)
- Caffeine can support concentration and mental performance
- L-Theanine can contribute to calmness, focus and relaxation
- May increase metabolism and support fat burning
- Extra high content of antioxidants compared to other types of tea
The combination of caffeine and L-Theanine provides long-lasting energy without the sudden peaks and crashes often experienced with coffee. When coffee feels too intense, matcha can be a more balanced alternative!
What is L-Theanine?
L-Theanine is a unique amino acid that can stimulate alpha waves in the brain, which is associated with a sense of calm and relaxation. This substance is found naturally in tea, but matcha has the highest content of any tea.
The combination of L-Theanine and caffeine in matcha can contribute to a balanced energy level, where you feel alert and focused without restlessness. This is one of the reasons why matcha is often chosen as a calmer alternative to coffee.
How to make matcha latte?
- Heat water to 80 degrees. Or boil water and mix in a little cold water.
- Take half a teaspoon (1-2 grams) in the cup and pour over the water.
- Preferably use a whisk or small milk frother to mix. Alternatively, stir with a teaspoon.
- Then heat the milk in a steamer or in your own way in a pot, microwave or similar.
- Pour the hot milk over the matcha.
- If you don't have a steamer that has given you rich milk, you can use the milk frother at the end to mix and aerate the latte.

Remember:
What will affect the result in the cup is the water temperature and the amount of matcha you use. If the water is too hot, the tea will be bitter. The cooler the water, the sweeter the tea will taste. Our suggestion is the most common preparation method called usucha. You can also make a stronger variation, called koicha, with double the amount of matcha and half the water.
Organic green tea
An organic product is produced in a way that takes the environment into account by not using chemical and synthetic pesticides. It's good for the planet, but also for the tea, the farmer and you. By buying organic teas, you support healthy and long-term tea production.
NO-ØKO-01
We are proud to be the largest Norwegian brand importer of organic tea. To be approved by Debio and use the definition Organic, not only must the ingredients be certified organic, but our own plant must also be certified by Debio and controlled by Mattsilynet.
In addition to import controls from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, we go beyond the requirements by also taking random samples for pesticides/pesticides and other pollutants.
It is important that tea is stored protected from air and light. That's why we sell all our teas packed in tight aluminum bags with a zip lock.
